Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving is costing her a big time. After the news had hit the wire, she had stepped down from SBS’s Trolley (literal title) and her new Netflix series Bloodhounds (literal title) is considering rearranging its schedule.
On the 18th, Kim Sae Ron crashed into a transformer box three times while driving near the Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 8 AM KST. The police were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple reports about a possible drunk driving and caught Kim Sae Ron as she fled the scene after the crash. It is said that she was with a passenger at the time.
The breath test came out positive for alcohol, but Kim Sae Ron requested a blood test.
After the report of Kim Sae Ron getting booked on the charges of DUI came out, attention focused on the two new dramas she’s filming.
Netflix’s Bloodhounds released a statement, “We’re currently in the middle of filming. We plan on adjusting the filming schedule, and the release date will also be announced as soon as it’s arranged after a discussion.” Then on the 19th, Kim Sae Ron also stepped down from the upcoming SBS drama Trolley. A source from Studio S stated, “Kim Sae Ron’s agency expressed her intent to step down from the show. And we accepted [the request].”
In the meantime, Kim Sae Ron’s agency GOLDMEDALIST released an official apology a day after the accident. “We sincerely apologize for causing concerns,” they shared. “Kim Sae Ron is deeply reflecting on her mistakes. Additionally, she sincerely apologizes to the many people who suffered damage and inconvenience and to all those who are working hard to restore the damaged public structure. And we’ll do our best to restore the damage.”
