Netflix’s Single’s Inferno star Kang So Yeon and Cha Hyun Seung revealed that the two had known each other from before the show.
On February 2nd, Kang So Yeon posted a video titled ‘Single’s Inferno Cha Hyun Seung, Kang So Yeon Q&A’ on her YouTube channel. In the video, she invited Cha Hyun Seung and shared stories behind the popular reality dating show.
Kang So Yeon explained, “We almost got to perform on the same stage together. When I was a vocalist, Hyun Seung almost became our backup dancer.” Kang So Yeon made her debut in 2011 as a member of a girl group WE, which was produced by DJ DOC, but she left the group in 2014.
The two coincidentally met again in Single’s Inferno but did not develop any romantic relationship. While Kang So Yeon was seeing Oh Jin Taek, Cha Hyun Seung went straight for Song Zia (FreeZia) and competed with Kim Hyun Joong.
Cha Hyun Seung noted that he did not recognize Kang So Yeon at first. He said to So Yeon, “You looked familiar, and it turned out that you were the person whom I thought you looked like. It wasn’t a resemblance, it was you.”
