On the 12th, Disney Plus unveiled the character photo of Kang Daniel, who has turned into Wi Seung Hyun in Rookie Cops. The series follows a group of new students entering the police academy to achieve their dreams.

One thing about the show that catches the eye is that Kang Daniel is making his acting debut in it. Wi Seung Hyun, played by the singer, is a passionate youth whose dream is to become a great police officer just like his father (Song Chang Min). Even in the photos, he exudes the charisma of an intelligent man who entered the police university at the top of his class. Unlike his wish, Wi Seung Hyuk will unfold a dynamic campus life as he encounters Go Eun Kang (Chae Soo Bin) and gets involved in an unexpected incident.

Kang Daniel has chosen the word “passion” as the keyword of Rookie Cops. “It felt like walking into someone else’s life. There was this magical charm that’s unique to acting and is different from performing on stage,” he said.

“This was my first time acting, and I was very nervous about being in an unfamiliar environment. But with the help of the staff and actors, I had fun filming,” he added. Regarding the character’s charm, he explained, “Wi Seung Hyun is a hot-blooded person who can’t stand injustice. He seems indifferent but has an unexpected warmth within him. He’s also quite a good fighter, so I tried hard to look natural in using my body.”

The production team shared, “The seriousness and enthusiasm he has for acting are impressive. You will get to discover Kang Daniel’s new charm. Please look forward to it.”

Meanwhile, Rookie Cops will be released on the 26th.
