CL opened up about 2NE1’s disbandment for the first time.
In a recent interview with AP Entertainment, CL was asked, “Minzy said that she found out about the disbandment through the media. How did you find out?” The artist responded with an awkward laugh, “well, I did too… to be honest. I was at a thanksgiving dinner, and my phone blew up.”
She then added, “That was very heartbreaking for me. But like I said, now I have a lot of freedom and control over at least what I choose to do. So this is a very exciting chapter for me.”
AP Entertainment explained that CL seemed quite emotional as she recalled the time. The report also delivered exciting news for fans as they wrote that the four members are talking about promoting together.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 shocked their fans when they disbanded in 2016. However, in the years since, the members were spotted hanging out together, raising expectations for a new release at some point.
