‘Squid Game’ Star Lee Jung Jae Scores Nomination for “Best Actor in Drama Series” at the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards

Squid Game star Lee Jung Jae continues to be a global sensation. The actor scored a nomination for the Best Actor in Drama Series at the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards.

The list of nominees for the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards was revealed on the 6th (local time). Lee Jung Jae’s name was spotted in the Best Actor in Drama Series award, alongside Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Mike Colter (Evil), Brian Cox (Succession), Bill Porter (Pose), and Jeremy Strong (Succession).

Critics’ Choice Awards is an award show presented annually by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association (CCA) to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The awards are also an indicator of success to upcoming major awards, such as the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards.

In addition to Lee Jung Jae’s feat, Squid Game was also nominated for Best Drama Series and Best Foreign Language Drama.

Previously, Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite won the Best Director and the Best Foreign Language Film in the movie category. Minari also took home Best Foreign Language Film the following year.

Meanwhile, the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards will be held on January 9th, 2022.
