Choi Woo Shik Talks About “Wooga Family,” Meeting Leonardo DiCaprio, ‘Parasite,’ and More in ‘You Quiz on the Block’

Choi Woo Shik appeared on You Quiz on the Block and opened up about various stories.

First, the actor’s famous squad called the “Wooga Family” was brought up. This friendship group includes Choi Woo Shik, Park Seo Joon, BTS’s V, Park Hyung Sik, and Peakboy. Since the names of the stars are so big, Jo Se Ho asked him about the conditions and fee of joining the squad. To which Choi chuckled as he answered, “There are no such things.”

When talking with Choi, his award-winning movie Parasite can’t be left out. “I heard that he (director Bong) wrote the script while thinking about Song Kang Ho and me,” he shared. “After finishing Okja, we had an after-party. And there, he (director Bong) gave me a hint. He said, ‘I think you and I will meet again soon.’ I even told him that I’ll bulk up my body until then, and he said no.”

Choi also mentioned meeting Leonardo DiCaprio. “Parasite was so welcomed. I said hello to DiCaprio, and his hand was so soft. I kept talking about that with Lee Sun Kyun,” he recalled.

The actor then was asked about the dream he had as a kid. “The dream I had wasn’t to be an actor. Now that I think about it, I think I wanted to shoot with a camera. You know, thinking about the right angle and walking,” he said.

“When I was in Canada, a friend of mine told me, ‘You should act. Eyes like yours are popular these days.’ At the time, Rain and Yoo Ah In were on the rise. Then he told me that he had already sent in my pictures to agencies,” he continued. “When I told my parents that I was going to act, they didn’t believe me.”
