Yoo Ah In made the cover of Mari Clarie’s BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) special edition.

Earlier this year, Yoo won the best actor at Blue Dragon Film Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards, and Fantasia International Film Festival with his film Voice of Silence. Winning praises from both critics and the public, the actor exuded his charisma in the new black-and-white pictorial.

In the interview conducted after the photoshoot, Yoo talked about his upcoming Netflix series Hellbound. In it, he plays Jung Jin Soo, the leader of the new religious group. “I wondered how the process of making a serious, perhaps shocking story could be so enjoyable,” he shared.

He then praised director Yeon Sang Ho, saying, “I found the delight in watching him solidifying the message of the project and his intentions without losing the humor.” Yoo then commented that playing Jung Jin Soo was a process of measuring the absolute solitude and loneliness of the character.

When asked about what drives him to live as an actor, he responded, “The fact that there’s no royal road. That constantly makes me want to challenge new things.”

Meanwhile, Marie Claire is the official magazine of the BIFF. This upcoming BIFF edition will be released on the website and distributed for free during the festival.
