Park Seo Joon left for the States today to film the new Marvel movie.
On the afternoon of September 3rd, Park departed for LA through Incheon International Airport Terminal 2.
His agency Awesome ENT confirmed, “Park Seo Joon has joined the new Marvel movie. He indeed left the country this afternoon.” The company then added, “We thank all those who showed interest and supported Park Seo Joon’s new challenge. We are well aware that many people are curious about his character, the filming location, and the filming period. But we will officially announce the detailed information about the movie later.”
Earlier this year, media outlets reported that Park would be starring in The Marvels, the sequel to Captain Marvel. At the time, Awesome ENT responded with “no comment.”
However, his appearance became an open secret when his name was listed next to Brie Larson on IMDb’s page for The Marvels.
Since then, many have suspected that the actor will play the Korean-American teenage hero Amadeus Cho. In Marvel comic books, Amadeus Cho is portrayed as Hulk’s sidekick. His mother is Dr. Helen Cho, played by Claudia Kim (aka Kim Soo Hyun) in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Meanwhile, Captain Marvel became a major box-office hit, grossing $1.128 billion. Even in Korea, the movie mobilized 5.8 million viewers, making headlines. For The Marvels, Candyman director Nia DaCosta was tapped as the director, becoming the first black filmmaker to direct a Marvel movie.
