tvN’s Mouse has won a nomination for the International Panorama category at SERIES MANIA 2021.
Created in 2010, SERIES MANIA 2021 marks its 11th anniversary this year as a renowned French festival that allows all television viewers to select the best drama series. This year, the event will be hosted from August 26th to September 2nd in Lille, France.
The BBC submarine series Vigil and other international works from the US, Britain, and France have earned the nomination for the premiere. However, tvN’s Mouse is the only Korean work to be nominated at the SERIES MANIA 2021.
Artistic Director of Series Mania, Frederic Lavigne, praised Mouse for depicting an exciting murder chase that strikes a perfect balance between scientific speculation and storytelling about psychopathic hereditary. He added that screenwriter Choi Ran has created undying tension through a series of twists and turns and allowed the actors to perform various tasks. Furthermore, he stated that Mouse had proved Korea’s potential for success by understanding the public interest, approaching moral issues, and creating a solid thriller.
Meanwhile, this is the third invitation that a Korean drama has received, followed by OCN’s The Guest in 2019 and tvN’s The Cursed in 2020.
