Chanyeol shared the impressions of his new film, The Box at the premiere.
On March 18th, The Box held its press preview at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Chanyeol, Jo Dal Hwan, and director Yang Jung Woong attended the event and shared various behind-the-scenes stories.
Director Yang explained why he asked Chanyeol to be on the project. “I’m a fan of EXO. I especially enjoy Chanyeol’s rap and low-pitched voice. He is free-spirited and creative. His artistic aspects captivated me,” he shared. “Jo Dal Hwan’s delicate acting was impressive. So I wanted him to join us.”
With The Box, Chanyeol took on his first lead role. He thanked Jo Dal Hwan, saying, “I was nervous first, but Jo Dal Hwan led me a lot. We grew closer and shared a ton of small talks. So I enjoyed the filming process. I felt comfortable when I was around the set.”
In response, Jo Dal Hwan added, “I had much time to empathize, feel, and learn from Chanyeol while filming. There were many things to learn from him: his attitude at the set, his politeness towards the staff, his tall height, and his musical vibe.”
Chanyeol, who made his first public appearance since his private life scandal, remained silent on the matter. Instead, he mentioned his military enlistment. “I am so honored and fortunate to meet a great work before joining the army. So I will feel at ease even after my enlistment. I’m ready to go and come back safely.”
Director Yang Jung Woong’s directorial debut movie The Box will be released on the 24th.
