Insooni (also noted as In Soon I) teared up as she reminisced about her deceased mother.
The musician appeared in the 10th episode of MBN’s Eat More Before You Leave (literal title) which aired at 9.20 p.m. KST on the 10th. In the last episode, she sang “Father” with her heart as she drew tears from Kang Ho Dong and Hwang Je Sung while hosting the ‘New Year Mini Concert.’ In the talk that continued until late at night, she brings up the story of her late mother from her heart.
Insooni said, “I really miss the sweet potato stem kimchi that my mom used to make for me. She was a small, but fierce woman. It must have been hard for her, but she endured it without putting me up for adoption.” She also expressed her gratitude for raising her and her sibling well despite others’ criticisms.
Furthermore, Insooni confessed that after her mother had been in a coma for nearly two years, she only heard about her death while she was on her way to a schedule that was already planned for a whole year. She explained how she went on stage despite the tearing pain. “After she passed away, I could only think of what I could have done for her.”
The production team said, “We shed tears as Insooni disclosed her memories of her late mother and a family history that is far from normal.” They also added, hoping that viewers will listen to her somber story.
