On December 18th of 2020, a photo of Jonghyun singing on stage was posted on SHINee’s official SNS account with the caption which translates to “We will always love you.”

SHINee’s member Key also posted a photo of him and Jonghyun friendlily holding toothbrushes on his SNS, as he wrote, “I miss you so much. I love you.”

Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany and Choi Soo Young also reminisced of Jonghyun. On this day, Choi Soo Young ringed Tiffany as the special DJ of KBS CoolFM Jung Eun Ji’s Gayo Plaza. Tiffany specifically requested SHINee’s “View” to be played. She explained that she wanted to recommend SHINee’s “View” to remember Jonghyun, as she misses him very much. She hoped for listeners to feel happier through SHINee’s cool and refreshing voice. Choi Soo Young also commented that she misses SHINee more so today than ever.

Jonghyun’s SNS account, now a place of memorial and tribute, is filled with fans’ comments.

His heart for music is still influential to this date. After Jonghyun passed away, his family has set up a non-profiting foundation “Shiny” in 2018. As a foundation that supports artists’ growth, it has recently donated 20million Won (approximately 18k USD) to Seoul’s joint fundraiser for social welfare.

Meanwhile, in July, SM Entertainment has recreated Jonghyun’s “End of a Day” in collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic orchestra. The proceeds of the music were donated to the Shiny Foundation.
