BoA explained that the reason she carried around a cat when she first made her debut was only a part of an “image-making.”
On Dec 2, BoA unveiled the 6th episode “Nobody Talks To BOA” on her YouTube. For this day, BoA met up with Uhm Jung Hwa, Jung Jae Hyung and Jung Seung Hwan to celebrate her 20th anniversary.
Talking about their heyday, Uhm Jung Hwa mentioned, “BoA used to carry a cat with her.” BoA replied, “You’re right. I used to carry one with me. Because the company made me,” shocking Uhm Jung Hwa.
BoA added, “Producer Soo Man told me to raise a Persian cat because I needed to look ‘mysterious.’ But that cat hated me,” giving a big laugh. In response, Uhm Jung Hwa expressed her surprise, “At the time, I thought you were carrying the cat because you had no friends from debuting at such an early age and you wanted comfort. That was perfect image-making.”
In fact, BoA released a song about her cat “Sara” at the beginning of her career. And even performed some cute acts with the cat for the music video.
Meanwhile, BoA recently released their 20th-anniversary album BETTER.
