Kim Yong Ji, best known for playing Hotaru in the hit drama Mr. Sunshine, has married her non-celebrity partner in a private wedding ceremony, with no prior reports of their relationship.
The actress married her non-celebrity partner in a private outdoor ceremony on October 11th, according to industry sources.
News of the wedding spread through social media posts by her fellow actors. On October 11th, Kim Go Eun shared wedding photos on Instagram and tagged Kim Yong Ji. In the photos, Kim Yong Ji wears a wedding dress and holds a red bouquet as she stands beside her husband at an outdoor venue with a traditional Korean house in the background.
Kim Go Eun and Kim Yong Ji were both born in 1991 and attended Korea National University of Arts together as members of the class of 2010.
Bae Jung Nam, who starred with Kim Yong Ji in Mr. Sunshine, also attended the wedding. He shared a photo with the couple and wrote, “Congratulations on your wedding, Yong Ji!” Her husband’s face was covered with an emoji in the photo.
Kim Yong Ji began her career as an advertising model in 2015. She made her acting debut in the 2018 tvN drama Mr. Sunshine, playing Hotaru. She later appeared in dramas such as Watcher, The Lies Within and The King: Eternal Monarch.
In 2020, she gained attention for playing Gi Yu Ri in Tale of the Nine Tailed. She later returned for Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and appeared in the Netflix series Somebody.
