SHINee’s Minho is drawing attention for his exemplary military service.

Earlier today, the Republic of Korea’s Marine Corps acknowledged an exemplary soldier for his decision to give up his granted vacation and early discharge.

Along with the several pictures of Minho, the Marine Corps wrote “Soldiers whose vacations have been restricted due to COVID-19 can use their vacation and be discharged at home without returning to the unit. However, there is a Marine who gave up on his vacation to participate in the last defense drills, and it’s sergeant Choi Min Ho.”

They added that Minho decided to give up his 20-day vacation to lead the new soldiers participating in the defense drills by passing on the technical knowledge and skills he picked up over the past year and a half.

The Marine Corps said, “Choi Min Ho was a Marine who was praised by the people around him for his exemplary military life, his unique sincerity and bright personality. We will support him until the day he is discharged from the military.”

Minho will remain on active duty until he is officially discharged on November 15.
