CJ ENM producer Na Young Seok, who produced various hit entertainment shows such as Three Meals a Day series and New Journey to The West series, became a hot topic.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service in 2018, Na’s annual salary is 3.725 billion KRW (about 3,176,162 USD), 215 million KRW (about 183,337 USD) for salary and 3.51 billion KRW (about 2,993,095 USD) for bonus. Producer Shin Won Ho, who directed Reply series and Hospital Playlist, also received 99 million KRW (about 84,415 USD) in salary and 2.495 billion KRW (about 2,127,443 USD) for bonus.
In the case of Na Young Seok, his salary has reportedly increased more than 50 times since he moved from KBS to CJ ENM. Shin also saw his salary rise to 2.6 billion KRW (about 2,216,219 USD) after moving to CJ.
What caught the attention is the fact that Na received more pay than the group’s owner family – Lee Jae Hyun, the chairman of the CJ ENM, and Lee Mi Kyung, the vice-chairman. They are paid 2.327 billion KRW (about 1,983,516 USD) and 2.13 billion KRW (about 1,815,595 USD), respectively.
Na joined KBNS in 2001 and produced the first season of 1 Night 2 Days. Since moving to CJ ENM in 2013, he has released multiple hits, including Grandpas Over Flowers series, Three Meals a Day series, Youn’s Kitchen series, and New Journey to The West series.
