Somi first made her appearance to the public as a contestant in multiple survival shows. She competed against current TWICE members on JYP Entertainment’s SIXTEEN and won first place on Mnet’s Produce 101. She debuted as a member of I.O.I until 2017. Afterward, she promoted with other project groups. In 2018, she ultimately left JYP Entertainment and signed with THEBLACKLABEL, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. Last June, she made her debut as a solo artist with her single ‘Birthday’ and has since been actively appearing on variety shows and modeling for various brands. Recently, she starred in her own reality show “I AM SOMI” and teased her comeback in the episodes.
