Car, the Garden, DAY6’s Dowoon, Lee Chae Min and ALLDAY PROJECT’s Tarzzan are heading into the mountains for Netflix’s new unscripted show Take a Hike!
Premiering Aug. 18, the show centers around four reluctant hikers with little interest in the outdoors as they tackle their first-ever winter mountain expedition. It follows the beginners as they search for an answer to the question: Why do people hike? Along the way, it promises plenty of laughs, candid moments and stunning snowy scenery.
The project also marks the Na Young Suk team’s latest collaboration with Netflix and introduces a fresh cast lineup.
A newly released teaser poster shows Car, the Garden taking on the role of the group’s determined oldest member, alongside a curious Dowoon, rising star Lee Chae Min and cheerful youngest member Tarzzan.
The teaser offers a glimpse at the grueling climb, with all four visibly struggling against the mountain’s tougher-than-expected conditions. “This is just wrong,” an exhausted Car, the Garden says, as the trailer cuts to sweeping views of the snow-covered landscape.
Producer Park Hyun Yong said the show was created with the goal of delivering “raw entertainment where the cast genuinely struggles.”
“South Korea’s winter mountains are at their harshest and most rugged, yet they are also more beautiful than in any other season,” he said. “We wanted to show the raw chemistry that emerges when four people who have spent their lives far from the mountains are thrown into such an extreme environment and begin pushing and pulling one another forward.”
Take a Hike! premieres Aug. 18 exclusively on Netflix.
