BTS has broken its another record of album sales in just a week since the release of its fourth full album MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 on Feb. 21.

According to HanTeo Chart, the Korean prominent website for real-time album sales and rankings, MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 sold total 3,378,633 copies over the past week (from the 21st through the 27th). This is the largest-ever number of album sales on the first week of release in BTS’s history, highly exceeding the first week’s sales (2,130,480 copies) of BTS’s previous album MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA, which was released last April. MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA was already listed on the Guinness World Records as the “largest number of Korean album sales all-time” because it sold 3,399,302 copies in just two months since its own release, so BTS’s latest album is very likely to break a whole new record sooner or later.

Meanwhile, the music video (MV) of “ON”, the title track of MAP OF THE SOUL : 7, is also enjoying its popularity as explosive as the entire album. It reached YouTube’s 10 million views in the shortest time in K-Pop history, hitting 10 million mark in an hour and 5 minutes. The “ON” MV also surpassed 20 million views on YouTube in 5 hours and 10 minutes. How many records will BTS rewrite on the music scene through MAP OF THE SOUL : 7?
