BLACKPINK just broke another new record through the music video (MV) of its debut single “BOOMBAYAH”.

The MV of “BOOMBAYAH”, one of double title songs (another track was “Whistle”) released on BLACKPINK’s debut, surpassed 800 million views on YouTube as of 9:04 a.m. this Monday (Feb. 24, KST). BLACKPINK has now been the first-ever K-Pop group to own two MVs hitting more than 800 million YouTube views. Previously, the MV of “Ddu-dU DdU-dU”, BLACKPINK’s another hit song, reached 1 billion views while the group gained the largest number of YouTube views as a single MV of K-Pop groups all-time.

Furthermore, other two popular MVs of “Kill This Love” and “As If It’s Your Last”, both sung by BLACKPINK, have far exceeded 700 million views and is about to hit 800 million mark. So BLACKPINK’s record-breaking journey will continue for a while, but the most thing we’re expecting for the group is a new album it’s currently preparing!
