tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama Queen of Tears concluded its run on April 28th with great popularity. Many actors who appeared in the drama shared their thoughts on the show’s ending.
Kim Soo Hyun and the main cast members shared their thoughts on the show’s conclusion before the airing of the final episode.
Kim Soo Hyun, who played Baek Hyun Woo in the series, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I’m so grateful for all the love for Queen of Tears. It has been a joy to be a part of this project.”
Kim Ji Won, who played the role of Hong Hae In, shared her bittersweet emotions, stating, “After filming for a long time, I was waiting for the broadcast with a mix of nervousness and excitement. It’s already over, and I can’t help but feel a little sad. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the drama as a viewer myself, and I’m truly grateful for the viewers who watched and loved it.”
Kim Ji Won Reflects on ‘Queen of Tears’ as Series Concludes
Park Sung Hoon, who portrayed Yoon Eun Sung, a man driven by madness in his obsessive pursuit of love, conveyed his sincere appreciation, saying, “I sincerely thank all the viewers who cried and laughed with us throughout the show. I know there were moments where his actions might have caused some frustration, but remember, it was just a character!”
Kwak Dong Yeon, who took on the role of Hong Su Cheol, a carefree third-generation chaebol who transforms into a devoted husband and father, reflected on his experience, stating, “Becoming Su Cheol was an unforgettable journey, and the teamwork on set made it even more enriching. Those memories will stay with me for a long time.”
Lee Joo Bin, who played Cheon Da Hye, a character who undergoes a transformation through the power of true love, shared her heartfelt message, saying, “It seems like just yesterday I was waiting with a trembling heart for the first episode, and now it’s already the end. I will forever cherish the warm attention and love you have shown me.”
Following the broadcast of the final episode, many supporting actors have also shared their thoughts and recalled their favorite memories.
Jang Yoon Ju, who played Baek Hyun Woo’s older sister Baek Mi Sun, said, “This was my first TV drama. From the moment I read the script, I knew I had to do it. It was so much fun to read. The lines, delivered in the way that writer Park Ji Eun is known for, were both funny and deeply poignant. I knew it would do well. The writer, director, production team, and actors, without exception, made this a solid work.”
Kim Joo Ryeong, who played Grace Ko in the series, said, “It’s incredible to see how many people, even overseas viewers, have connected with the show. As a fan myself, I laughed and cried through every episode. The focus on set was incredible. I had some worries about how Grace would be received, but I’m so grateful the audience connected with her even more than I’d hoped!”
Jeon Bae Soo, who played Baek Hyun Woo’s father Baek Doo Gwan, said, “The first time I met Kim Soo Hyun in person, I was speechless. He’s even more handsome in real life! Luckily, he was incredibly warm and welcoming, which really helped during filming last winter. Kim Ji Won is an acting inspiration. Fight for My Way was my first time playing a father role, and even though I’ve done a few more since, she’ll always be like my first daughter on screen.”
Kim Do Hyun, who played Baek Hyun Woo’s older brother Baek Hyun Tae, said, “I think I’ll never forget the precious time we spent together. It was so welcoming, filled with laughter and great conversations. I wish the best for the future of our Yongduri family, Queens Hyun Woo, Hae In, and all the cast and crew who made Queen of Tears possible.”
Moon Tae Yu, who played Hyun Woo’s friend Kim Yang Gi, said, “A huge thank you to the entire cast and crew who poured their hearts into this project, and of course, to all the amazing viewers who loved the series! Watching Hyun Woo’s journey must have been a learning experience for Yang Gi too. I hope there’s love in store for the Yang Gi family as well!”
Kim Young Min, who played Yongduri’s Kim Young Song, said, “Thank you all for loving Queen of Tears! It was truly an honor to be a part of such a special project. Working alongside Kim Jeong Nan was a privilege. Her bright energy is infectious, and I learned so much from her. The way she built up the character of Beom Ja from the start created such a beautiful foundation for the romance between Young Song and Beom Ja.”
