IU and Byeon Woo Seok are showing off their easy, playful chemistry—and one bold comment is getting fans talking.
In a video released on April 13th via ELLE Korea’s YouTube channel, the two stars—currently co-starring in Perfect Crown—sat down to share what they admire about each other.
IU kicked things off by praising Byeon Woo Seok as “really cute, easygoing, and has great skin.” He didn’t hesitate to fire back with a surprising compliment: “IU is really, truly sexy,” instantly catching everyone off guard.
Laughing, IU teased, “That sounds like you’re joking,” but Byeon doubled down, saying, “I mean it—genuinely,” drawing laughs on set.
The playful back-and-forth continued, with Byeon complimenting IU’s hands and feet—only for IU to jokingly protest, “He keeps saying my feet look ugly during filming!” He responded with a grin, “I wasn’t even looking, but then she goes, ‘You saw my feet, didn’t you?’ so I end up looking,” showing off their close, teasing dynamic.
IU also admitted she loved joking around with him so much that “at some point, it felt like he was avoiding me,” while Byeon laughed and called her “a real prankster.”
They also shared more heartfelt moments. Byeon said he became a fan after seeing IU’s dedication to acting on set, while IU recalled being impressed from day one. “The moment he showed up, he was like a prince—I didn’t even need to try to immerse myself,” she said.
The two stars didn’t shy away from calling each other out. IU joked, “He’s already tall, but sometimes he still wears shoes with lifts—I’ve even asked if he could just stick to socks,” drawing laughs. Byeon added, “Whenever she’s leaving before me, she always teases me,” playfully complaining.
They even looked back on their earlier connection, recalling their time on Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo nearly a decade ago. Byeon admitted he once pushed IU too hard during a scene due to inexperience, while IU joked, “I said it was fine, but my tailbone still hasn’t fully healed,” giving a big laugh.
But she soon added, “It’s been almost 10 years. Maybe that’s why we’re so comfortable now—and why our chemistry works so well.”
