Former Super Junior member Kangin is being hailed as a hero for saving the life of comedian Lee Jin Ho during a critical medical emergency.
MyDaily reported on April 14th that the 41-year-old singer was the first to alert emergency services after Lee collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Insiders said Lee collapsed while walking in his yard and was seriously injured in the fall. Thanks to Kangin’s quick response, he got to the hospital within the “golden hour” for stroke treatment, but he remains in critical condition. It was not a minor hemorrhage, and he is expected to face a long recovery.
Lee is reportedly ineligible for health insurance benefits due to roughly 28 million won ($20,000) in unpaid premiums dating back to 2023. These debts, coupled with a total loss of income during his hiatus, are reportedly linked to a gambling addiction. The lack of insurance coverage has caused the costs of his intensive care to skyrocket, placing his family under significant financial strain as they hope for his recovery.
