The girlfriend of comedian Lee Jin Ho has been found dead, just weeks after the comedian was arrested for drunk driving in a case she was reportedly involved in.
According to the Incheon Bupyeong Police Station, on October 10th, an acquaintance discovered the woman’s body in an apartment on the morning of October 5th and reported it to the police.
She has been identified as the girlfriend of Lee Jin Ho, who was recently at the center of a major drunk driving controversy. On September 24th, Lee was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. At the time of his arrest, his blood alcohol content was 0.11%, a level high enough to have his license revoked.
Several media outlets reported that it was his girlfriend who had called the police on him. Following the incident, it was also reported that she was in a state of severe emotional distress.
Police have stated that no foul play is suspected in her death. However, an official added, “It is difficult to disclose further details out of consideration for the bereaved family’s wishes.”
Lee Jin Ho has also recently been under fire for financial issues. It was revealed that he had allegedly borrowed over 2 billion won ($1.4 million) from loan company and high-profile celebrities, including BTS’s Jimin, and had not paid the money back.
