Big Bang’s G-Dragon flaunted his artistic inspirations in his
On the 26th, G-Dragon shared his recent pictorial with ELLE Korea on his Instagram. The images showcase the K-pop icon sporting the CHANEL fashion of which he has been serving as an ambassador since 2016.
Discussing his pioneering role as the first Asian global ambassador for a luxury brand, the artist confessed, “It was difficult at first. It couldn’t have been easy.” He added, “Now, with so many platforms for exposure, scenes with foreign celebrities feel a bit more familiar. There were times when even the word ‘ambassador’ was strange to people. It was especially rare for an East Asian. But, luckily, I made good connections, and it’s really nice to go to Chanel events now because I’ve been seeing the same faces since Grandpa Karl’s time, including Virginie Viard.”
He also expressed his longing for the stage and tours. “Even though I am active with photo shoots, attending shows, and advertisements, I haven’t yet made a comeback as a singer, which is my main profession,” he explained. But soon, he hinted at his upcoming comeback, “But there will be things to do as G-Dragon, whether it’s a stage or a tour.”
Further, G-Dragon affirmed his belief in his past lyrics, ‘I am not the problem, but the answer to the problem.’ He clarified, “It’s not that the answers I have are the ‘absolute’ answers. There was a time when I didn’t know what the problem was. But now that my standards are unwavering, I don’t project myself onto the environment around me or other people’s situations.”
In conclusion, he added, “Actually, it’s like self-hypnosis. Reassuring myself that ‘I am the answer, it will be okay, it will be good.’ I don’t know whether it’s delusion or hope, but isn’t it fun to solve problems?” He then went on, “Though it may be seen as a problem by others, if it’s not a problem for me, then the answer will be different. I’m the one living my life, then the present me is the answer.”
