Former EXO member Tao and his wife, Xu Yiyang, have sparked fresh speculation that they’ve welcomed a child together, following a recent video posted by Xu.
Xu Yiyang uploaded a video to her social media account on October 15th with the caption, “The sun sets over the sea, and the person I love is by my side.” The clip shows the couple walking along a beach at sunset, holding hands with a young child.
The footage quickly stirred up online rumors, with netizens commenting, “Has their child really grown this much already?” and “The child can walk and jump, so they must be at least two years old.”
Some fans revisited footage from April 2024—when Tao proposed to Xu Yiyang while filming a show—noting that she wore loose-fitting clothes and appeared to have a slight baby bump at the time. Others brought up past eyewitness accounts, including a fan claim from August 2024 about spotting the pair at an OB-GYN clinic in Los Angeles.
Tao’s past slips of the tongue have also resurfaced. During an October 2024 livestream, he initially told viewers, “Spend time with your family, your wife, and your children,” before quickly correcting himself to say, “Spend time with your brothers.”
Furthermore, in June 2025, Chinese paparazzi reported seeing Xu Yiyang’s mother and a nanny carrying a baby into the parking garage of Tao’s apartment building. While the couple’s legal team issued a statement denying surrogacy allegations at the time, they notably left unaddressed whether they had actually had a child.
Tao made his debut with EXO in 2012 but departed in 2015 after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to void his exclusive contract. Despite losing the legal battle, he has maintained a successful career as a solo artist and actor in China. Dating rumors between Tao and Xu Yiyang—a former SM trainee—first surfaced in 2020. Tao publicly confirmed their relationship in 2024, and the couple officially tied the knot in December of that year.
