Tao has officially confirmed his relationship with Xu Yiyang.
On July 14th, Tao took to Chinese social media app Douyin, posting several photos along with the message, “May we always be us.” The images show Tao and former SM Rookies member Xu Yiyang sharing affectionate moments by the seaside. Xu Yiyang also posted similar photos on her account, captioning them, “Make a wish at sunset.”
The pair has been at the center of dating rumors three times since 2022. In November 2022, reports surfaced of Tao and Xu Yiyang meeting Tao’s mother. In February last year, they were spotted dining together, with eyewitness accounts and photos emerging. At the time, both parties denied the rumors, stating they were merely “artists from the same company.” Tao and Xu Yiyang are currently signed under L.TAO Entertainment in China.
Previously, Tao caused controversy during a live broadcast by saying, “Didn’t I shatter your fantasies before? So why do you keep holding on to them? ‘Husband’? That’s hilarious. Don’t have such fantasies and focus on living your own life properly.”
Tao debuted with EXO-M in 2012 but left the group in 2015 after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to terminate his contract.
