Kwon Eunbin is stepping away from the entertainment industry for good.
On June 16th, the former CLC member shared a lengthy post on Instagram, writing that she felt it was right to personally update the people who had supported her and explain her decision.
“During nearly 10 years in the entertainment industry, I was happy every moment thanks to the overwhelming love and support from fans, and I am sincerely grateful,” Kwon wrote.
She continued, “After starting this long journey in my teens, I naturally began thinking more about my past, present and future. With much thinking, I have decided to live as a non-celebrity, ordinary person.”
Kwon spoke candidly about what led to her decision, saying she had wasted precious time over the years on things that were not beneficial to her and on “empty relationships” that held no real meaning.
“I feel deeply regretful about my foolish past self and the time I spent that way,” she wrote. “Now, I have decided to leave all those negative times and emotions behind and spend my time pursuing a better, happier future.”
Kwon shared that she has been feeling happier lately, writing, “These days, I am spending time filled with newer and happier emotions than ever before.”
She also apologized for not being able to respond individually to everyone who had reached out with support and concern, adding that she will no longer be accepting personal messages or questions but will cherish the gratitude she feels for them.
Kwon said she will wrap up all entertainment activities after completing a previously scheduled overseas group event with CLC.
“Thank you sincerely for all the support you have given me,” she wrote. “I hope everyone will be happy. Thank you.”
Her profile has also reportedly been removed from portal sites.
Kwon Eunbin first became known through Mnet’s Produce 101 Season 1 in 2016 before joining CLC later that year. She later expanded into acting with roles in dramas including Bad Papa and Dear.M.
