Wi Ha Jun spoke about his experience working with Ji Chang Wook on Disney Plus original series The Worst of Evil for his interview following the conclusion of tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama Siren’s Kiss.

Wi Ha Jun recently shared a photo on social media with Ji Chang Wook, taken during a brand event they both attended. Wi Ha Jun and Ji Chang Wook previously worked together on the Disney Plus original series The Worst of Evil. He met Ji Chang Wook again after a long time at the event.

Wi Ha Jun stated, “We actually didn’t talk much about the project at the event. Working on The Siren really gave me a taste of what actors who lead shows from a young age go through. I finally understood the true weight of being a lead—the mindset you need on set, the way you have to approach the script, and the sheer energy it takes to perform. It was exhausting and challenging, but the growth I felt during the process was incredibly rewarding.”

He added, “Leading this show gave me a whole new perspective. I had some regrets about my work in the past. Now, I’m just in awe of how Ji Chang Wook handled everything during The Worst of Evil. He’s someone I really like and look up to. Even when I was stressed out by the script or buried in meetings, I tried to stay positive on set. Doing that made me realize, ‘Wow, this is what he was doing every day.’ I finally understood how much pressure he was under.”

Wi Ha Jun continued, “If I had known then what I know now, I could have been there for him more. But back then, I was so caught up in my own performance that I didn’t see the pressure he was under. We actually talked a lot about that recently. I told him, ‘I thought of you constantly while filming this,’ and ‘I feel like I didn’t do enough to support you.’ It really hit me just how incredible he is as a lead actor.”

Wi Ha Jun smiled, saying, “I had a great experience with Siren’s Kiss and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Even when things got hectic on set, I used it as motivation to push myself. I kept thinking, ‘I’m going to keep growing and do even better next time.’ The whole journey was just so positive.”

Furthermore, Wi Ha Jun explained, “I’ve always gotten along well with other guys. To someone like Chang Wook, I think I’m just his ‘cute younger brother’, and I’m lucky to be close with Lee Jong Suk and Jung Hae In as well. The older actors in the industry seem to trust me. Even back in the military, my superiors really took a liking to me. I think it’s because I’ve always been a hard worker who respects the rules and treats my juniors well. Growing up with a love for sports and martial arts probably helped us find common ground naturally.”

Wi Ha Jun shared, “I recently got to work out with Lee Jong Suk and Im Sung Jae. We actually became really close while filming Law and The City, and I found myself missing them a lot while I was busy with Siren’s Kiss. Once the project wrapped, we finally had a chance to catch up after a long time. We met up at a boxing gym for a workout and a meal afterward. I even got in a light sparring session with Sung Jae.”

He also mentioned, “I train at an MMA gym now, and it’s actually become quite the hub. I see Ju Ji Hoon there often, and Kim Mu Yul and Choo Young Woo are regulars, too. It’s been great to cross paths with these veterans—people I might not have met otherwise—and just chat naturally. Even Ma Dong Seok invited me over to his place, though I haven’t made it out there yet. My current spot isn’t just for boxing; it’s a full mixed martial arts gym,” he concluded.
