The author behind Iseop’s Romance (webtoon’s title) is setting the record straight after casting rumors involving Shin Hye Sun began circulating online.

On February 23rd, novelist Kim Eon Hee addressed the speculation in a post on her blog, explaining that a recent upload had been misinterpreted. “I posted it because I really enjoyed a drama I watched recently,” she wrote. “I knew about the male lead casting, but I don’t know who the female lead is.” She added, “Separately, I am a fan of Shin Hye Sun.”

The clarification came after fans revisited an earlier post in which Kim Eon Hee shared photos of Lee Jun Hyuk and Shin Hye Sun with captions praising their visuals and acting. Some viewers speculated the post was hinting at casting choices for the upcoming drama adaptations of Iseop’s Romance and A Casual Lie (literal title), especially since the two actors resemble characters from the original novels.

Earlier that day, production company Ace Factory confirmed that Lee Jong Suk and Lee Jun Hyuk will star in the two series based on Kim Eon Hee’s popular novels, which share the same fictional universe centered on the TK Group family. The projects will adapt Iseop’s Romance and A Casual Lie as separate but connected stories.

Shin Hye Sun’s agency also addressed the speculation, telling Ilgan Sports that she has not received an offer for the project. According to industry sources, another actress is currently being considered for the role.

Iseop’s Romance follows Tae Iseop, a seemingly perfect third-generation chaebol who struggles with relationships, and Kang Min Kyung, a driven employee known as the TK Group’s secret weapon, in a chaotic office romance. A Casual Lie centers on Tae Jun Seop, the chairman’s grandson, and copywriter Yeon Woo Kyung, whose lives become entangled in a high-stakes succession battle.

The two series, produced by Bon Factory, Ace Factory and A-Man Media, are set to be developed in tandem, with plans to begin production later this year.
