Disney Plus has released the main trailer for Between Steps, teasing an unfinished young romance between Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun as love collides with the realities of their lives.
The trailer opens with the growing attraction between Min Jae (Choo) and Yoo Jin (Kim). “If you don’t want this, tell me now,” Yoo Jin says as she grabs his shirt and pulls close. From their seemingly fateful first meeting to the time they gradually begin spending time together, the two slowly find themselves drawn to each other.
Their contrasting personalities shape the romance: Min Jae struggles to express his feelings, while Yoo Jin boldly follows her heart.
The mood shifts as Min Jae’s past is revealed. Once a competitive swimmer, he lost one of his legs to illness and was forced to give up his dream. As both begin struggling with their own circumstances, their relationship is caught between love and reality.
“Yoo Jin, I think this is as far as we go,” Min Jae tells her.
“Do you really not have the courage to ask me to stay?” she responds.
Toward the end of the trailer, Min Jae declares, “Once I swallow something, I never spit it back out,” as the two exchange an emotional look in the rain, raising the question of whether they will find their way back to each other.
Between Steps follows Min Jae, a Ph.D. student and former high school swimmer, and Yoo Jin, a master’s student who finds a new path after losing direction in her career. The two meet in a robotics lab, setting off a romance shaped by their different wounds, ambitions and uncertainties.
Between Steps premieres October 5th on Disney Plus, with new episodes released every Monday and Tuesday.
