Kim Soo Hyun has officially returned to the public eye after a hiatus of approximately one year and four months, appearing in a new advertisement for an international fashion brand. This marks his first public appearance since police decided not to pursue charges against him following an investigation into allegations related to his private life.
On August 2nd, the official social media accounts of Philippine lifestyle fashion brand BENCH released a video message featuring Kim Soo Hyun, who serves as the brand’s ambassador.
In the video, Kim Soo Hyun greeted fans with a smile and a wave, saying, “Hello, I’m BENCH model Kim Soo Hyun. I’ve missed you all so much. I’m happy to be greeting you again after such a long time. Please look forward to what’s coming. Thank you.”

BENCH first selected Kim Soo Hyun as its advertising model in 2024 and recently renewed his contract with the actor. His return has drawn significant attention from fans, with products featured in the campaign quickly selling out.
A denim jacket worn by Kim Soo Hyun, in particular, sold out across all sizes on the brand’s official online store shortly after the campaign was released.
Kim Soo Hyun, who suspended all activities in March following allegations involving the late Kim Sae Ron, has been cleared of alleged violations of the Child Welfare Act and defamation. Police concluded there was insufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution, and his legal team stated that the grooming allegations were found to be baseless after a formal investigation.
However, legal disputes are not over. Kim Soo Hyun is still facing around 10 billion won ($7 million) in damages claims from several advertisers over the controversy. His return to entertainment activities and the release schedule for his completed Disney Plus series Knock Off remain uncertain.
