Rumors surrounding the future of TWICE members Jihyo and Chaeyoung have intensified following recent reports that Tzuyu may be leaving her longtime agency, JYP Entertainment.
Korean media outlets Joynews24 and Sports Kyunghyang reported on July 14th that Jihyo and Chaeyoung are not planning to renew their individual contracts with JYP Entertainment. According to the reports, Jihyo is preparing to establish her own one-person agency, while Chaeyoung has reportedly been meeting with other entertainment companies.
In response, JYP Entertainment shared a brief statement with The Fact, saying, “TWICE is currently in the process of negotiating their contract renewals. We will release an official update once everything is finalized.”
The reports came shortly after a News1 report earlier that same day claimed Tzuyu had also decided to leave JYP Entertainment while remaining a member of TWICE for group activities. JYP Entertainment issued a similar response, stating that “negotiations are still ongoing.”
TWICE has become one of K-pop’s most successful groups since their debut in 2015. In 2022, all nine members made headlines by renewing their contracts with JYP Entertainment. Fans and industry insiders are closely watching the outcome of the group’s second round of contract negotiations.
Meanwhile, TWICE recently concluded their sixth world tour, “THIS IS FOR,” with a series of concerts held from July 10 to 12 at Seoul’s KSPO Dome.
