BTS’ Jin is getting candid about how his mindset has changed over the years—and how close he once came to stepping away.
After successfully wrapping a comeback stage in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun on March 21st, Jin shared a more personal reflection during an appearance on Kian84’s YouTube channel “Insaeng84.”
In a video titled “Together with Jin,” released March 22nd, he opened up about his recent work on new music and how his perspective has shifted since entering his 30s.
“My mindset has actually gotten a lot better,” he said. “Back then, I thought I might do this for about seven years and then quit, but as I kept going, it got more fun for me and I got more sincere towards it.”
Jin credited fans for that change, adding, “Thanks to them, I started thinking that maybe I could do this longer and take it more seriously.”
Kian84 chimed in, noting that many performers tend to loosen up on choreography over time—but not BTS. Jin quickly gave credit to his groupmates. “The members are really good. I’m not as good,” he said with a laugh. “I think being objective is very important.”
Still, he didn’t shy away from joking about his own strengths, adding, “Honestly, I lean heavily on my face,” drawing laughter on set.
Kian84 also shared his surprise at the scale of Jin’s appearance, saying, “Usually about five people show up for my shoots, but you had around 20. There were even guards—I thought Michael Jackson was coming. It felt like a Netflix production.”
