
IU‘s house has become the most expensive apartment in South Korea, with its official price now at 32.5 billion won ($22 million).
The Eterno Cheongdam unit spans 464.11㎡. Its price has risen by 12.5 billion won ($8.4 million) from last year, making it the most expensive condo in the country this year.
IU and actor Song Joong Ki both reside in this prestigious building, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rafael Moneo. The building has 29 units. When it was first sold in 2020, it set a record as the most expensive apartment in Korean history, priced at 200 million won ($134,523) per pyeong (36 sq.ft). IU purchased her unit for 13 billion won ($8.7 million), while Song Joong Ki bought his for 15 billion won ($10 million).
The building has held the top spot as the most expensive apartment for two consecutive years.
Meanwhile, Nine One Hannam in Yongsan-gu moved up from third place last year to second. The official price of its 244.72㎡ units is 24.28 billion KRW ($16.3 million). Celebrities like G-Dragon, BTS’s RM, Jimin and actors Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon live there.
In third place is PH129 in the Cheongdam district of Seoul, with an official price of 23.23 billion won ($15.6 million), a 6 billion won ($4 million) increase from last year. Known residents include actors Jang Dong Gun and Ko So Young.
The fourth spot goes to ONER CHEONGDAM, which has a 341.6㎡ unit priced at 22.48 billion KRW ($15 million).
On the other hand, the cheapest condo in the country is Jangneung Leisure Town in Gangwon Province, with an official price of just 2.82 million won ($1897) for a 17.76㎡ unit.
