Netflix is set to release a new documentary capturing BTS’ long-awaited return.
The feature-length documentary BTS: The Return, premiering on March 27th on Netflix, follows the group’s journey back together after nearly four years apart as they work toward completing new music as a full team.
The film offers a look back at BTS’ remarkable rise since their 2013 debut, while also focusing on the next chapter of their career as artists. The project also continues the momentum of BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG, which will stream live worldwide on Netflix on June 21st at 8 PM KST.
The newly released poster captures moments from the group’s emotional road back to the stage, building anticipation for the long-awaited comeback. Alongside it, the trailer offers glimpses of the members working on their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, while reflecting on their past, present, and future.
After stepping away from the spotlight during their hiatus, the seven members reunite in Los Angeles to reflect on what BTS means to them and what lies ahead. As they face both uncertainty and excitement about the future, the members lean on one another while shaping the music that will define their next era.
At one point in the trailer, a voiceover says, “We are finally back where we’re meant to be,” hinting at the significance of their first full-group album in three years and nine months.
BTS: The Return is directed by Bao Nguyen, who previously helmed the Netflix documentaries The Stringer: The Man Who Took The Photo and The Greatest Night in Pop. The project is produced by global production company This Machine, known for films such as Martha and Karol G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful, in collaboration with HYBE.
Following the global livestream event BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG on the 21st, the documentary BTS: The Return will premiere exclusively on Netflix on the 27th at 4 PM KST.
