The King’s Warden star Park Ji Hoon is sharing a heartfelt and pretty lavish gift he once gave his father.
Appearing on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block on February 25th, the actor revealed that at age 22, just four years into his career, he bought his dad a Mercedes-Benz G-Class — often nicknamed the “G-Wagon”—which can run around 200 million KRW (approx. 140,000 USD).
Explaining the decision, Park said he had been thinking about how long his father had been driving his old car. “My dad had been driving the same car for a long time, so I kept thinking about what I could give him that would be really nice,” he said.
Knowing his father loved cars, Park decided on an SUV. “He really likes cars, so I thought I should get him a good SUV,” he said. “So I flexed a little.”
Host Yoo Jae Suk hinted at the model during the show, joking about a “bargain,” and Park played along, describing it as a “boxy, rugged car”—a clear nod to the iconic G-Class.
“I gave it to him as a ‘bargain,’ and he’s still driving it,” Park added with a smile.
