Han So Hee has opened up about why she decided to remove her tattoos, sharing both personal and professional reasons behind the decision.

In a press interview for her upcoming film Project Y on January 16th, Han was upfront about the painful process of tattoo removal.

“It hurts. It really hurts,” she said, speaking about the laser treatment. “Some tattoos are still there, but I had them removed enough that it wouldn’t affect my work.”

She explained that with the advancements in makeup and special effects, tattoos are no longer as necessary for styling. “These days, there are a lot of tattoo stickers and similar options. I use those to fix any styling issues if needed.”

When asked if the removal was just for her acting career, Han admitted her tattoos had caused some problems. “I couldn’t wear dresses,” she shared. “Having tattoos on my arms felt like a disadvantage in some roles, so I decided to remove them.”

Han also mentioned that removing the tattoos wasn’t permanent. “At the time, I thought, ‘I can always get them again later,’ so removing them for work now felt like the right choice. But honestly, it was extremely painful.”

Despite the changes to her appearance, Han still feels confident about her personal style. “I don’t feel pressured by what others think about my fashion,” she said. “I’ve always dressed this way, and I think many people appreciate my unique style. I may need to show different sides of myself as an actor, but I don’t really stress about what to wear.”

Han So Hee is currently promoting the noir film Project Y, where she stars alongside Jeon Jong Seo. The movie follows two women, Mi Seon (Han) and Do Kyung (Jeon), who live in a glamorous city but dream of escaping. Driven to their limits, they plot to steal gold bars and money to start a new life.
