ADOR has mentioned the possibility of reaching an agreement with Danielle.
The first preparatory hearing was held at the Seoul Central District Court on March 26th for the damages lawsuit filed by ADOR against Danielle and its former CEO, Min Hee Jin.
The court asked about the possibility of a settlement. ADOR responded, “We don’t see it as completely impossible.”
Danielle’s side countered, “This is the first time we’ve heard about a settlement, as the plaintiff filed a lawsuit for a large penalty after terminating the contract.”
ADOR explained, “In a lawsuit, there are opportunities to discuss mediation or settlement as proceedings continue and arguments are exchanged. The issue with Danielle should be discussed separately since Danielle’s return isn’t dependent on the outcome of this lawsuit. That is why we made this statement.”
Danielle’s side stated, “The defendant expressed her intention to return after the exclusive contract was terminated, but the case proceeded because the plaintiff claimed they would terminate the contract. We will review the matter and inform you if we have any proposals.”
The court expressed that it would be good to proceed while keeping the possibility of mediation open.
The second hearing is scheduled for the afternoon of May 14th.
