Danielle is making headlines once again—this time for a surprise appearance overseas.
The former NewJeans member was spotted in Tokyo on March 1st, South Korea’s Independence Movement Day, waving a Korean flag in a video shared by what appeared to be a fan account on X, formerly Twitter. In the clip, Danielle wears a baseball cap and sunglasses as she cheers on participants at the Tokyo Marathon.
According to reports, she attended the event to support rapper Sean, who leads the running crew Unknown. Danielle is said to be a member of the crew and has recently joined early morning runs and marathon events alongside him.

Her appearance comes months after her contract with ADOR was terminated on December 29th. The agency later filed a lawsuit seeking 43.1 billion won (approx. 29.4 million USD) in penalties and damages against Danielle, her family and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, alleging responsibility for NewJeans’ departure and delays in the group’s return.
Following her exit, Danielle addressed fans through social media, writing, “I fought until the end to stay with the members. In one corner of my heart, NewJeans is always there. This is not the end, but the beginning.” She added, “Many things are still in the process of being sorted out. When the time comes, I will update you on the lawsuit and the things you are curious about.”
For now, fans are watching closely as Danielle carves out her next chapter—one step at a time.
UPDATE:
Former NewJeans member Danielle’s chat history will be deleted from the fan platform PONING on April 3. ADOR says it’s part of a “service reorganization,” but fans are upset, calling it “cruel” and planning to back up their chats. There are also concerns about subscriber rights, since no refunds are offered.
