JTBC is gearing up for its next potential romance hit with the release of photos from the first script reading of The Practical Guide to Love.
Scheduled to premiere on February 2nd, the upcoming Saturday–Sunday drama is based on the popular Naver Webtoon of the same name. The story centers on Lee Eui Young, a career-driven woman determined to end her long dating dry spell. Her search for love leads her into a complicated love triangle with two very different men, forcing her to navigate conflicting emotions as she discovers what romance truly means.
Director Lee Jae Hoon, writer Lee Yi Jin, and the main cast, including Han Ji Min, Park Sung Hoon, Lee Ki Taek, Jung Hye Seong, and Kim So Hye, attended the script reading.
Han Ji Min led the reading as Lee Eui Young, a woman who excels professionally but struggles in her personal life. She brought humor and sincerity to the role, vividly portraying Eui Young’s bold determination to finally return to the dating scene.
The two male leads also left strong impressions. Park Sung Hoon plays Song Tae Seop, a man with a gentle exterior and a strong inner core, radiating warmth and stability. In contrast, Lee Ki Taek portrays Shin Ji Soo, a free-spirited younger man whose unpredictable charm comes through in his gaze and tone, raising curiosity about which man Eui Young will ultimately choose.
Adding energy to the session were Jung Hye Seong and Kim So Hye as Eui Young’s coworkers. Jung Hye Seong impressed as the cheerful and open-minded Jung Hyun Min, while Kim So Hye embodied the clumsy yet sincere rookie employee Shim Sae Byeok.
The production team praised the cast’s chemistry, saying, “The actors showed a deep understanding of their characters and demonstrated perfect synergy from the very first reading. The Practical Guide to Love will explore modern dating concerns through an engaging and relatable story.”
