Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min are already generating buzz ahead of the 2026 TV season, as the two stars grace the January issue of Singles Korea to promote their upcoming KBS drama To My Beloved Thief.
The series, slated to open KBS’s 2026 drama lineup, marks a youthful romance pairing between Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min. When asked about key points to watch, Moon didn’t hesitate. “First of all, I’m very confident about how good we look together,” he said candidly. Nam echoed the sentiment from a story perspective, adding, “Once our souls switch, our positions truly reverse. Being able to deeply understand why the other person acted the way they did was genuinely moving.”
To My Beloved Thief follows Lee Yeol (Moon Sang Min), a royal inspector secretly hiding his status as a grand prince, and Hong Eun Jo (Nam Ji Hyun), who lives a double life as a physician by day and a thief by night. When the two unexpectedly switch souls, a fantasy romance unfolds against a historical backdrop.
Because of the body-swap premise, the actors went through dozens of read-throughs before filming, carefully mirroring each other’s habits, vocal tones, and emotional nuances. “From her very first line, she felt just like me,” Moon recalled. “I thought, ‘That’s me—why does he suddenly look so dignified?’” Nam added that the director even pointed out visual cues: “He said Sang Min’s eyes go rounder when he plays Eun Jo, and mine get sharper when I play Yeol.”
Moon also shared his personal excitement for the project, saying that after Under the Queen’s Umbrella, he’d been hoping to do another warm, romantic period drama. “It made me realize period dramas really suit me,” he said. “I hope this becomes a great start to KBS’s 2026 lineup.”
Nam Ji Hyun closed by expressing her hopes for viewers. “I want people to feel warmth,” she said. “I hope the special emotions we experienced while making this drama are passed on to everyone watching.”
To My Beloved Thief premieres January 3rd.
