Nam Ji Hyun will not be appearing in the second season of Good Partner.
According to reports, Nam Ji Hyun’s team and the production staff of SBS’s drama discussed her appearance in Season 2 but decided she would not participate due to scheduling conflicts.
Production for Season 2 of Good Partner is currently underway, with filming expected to begin in the first half of next year. Jang Na Ra, who starred alongside Nam Ji Hyun in Season 1, is reportedly in positive talks to reprise her role.
SBS’s Good Partner offers a realistic look at life in and out of the courtroom, following star divorce lawyer Cha Eun Kyung (Jang Na Ra) and rookie attorney Han Yu Ri (Nam Ji Hyun). The first season aired from July to September last year, earning an impressive viewership rating of 17.7%.
Nam Ji Hyun was praised for her performance as Han Yu Ri, a fresh law school graduate navigating her first cases. Her on-screen chemistry with Jang Na Ra played a key role in the show’s success.
With news of her departure, attention is now turning to the new direction and casting for Season 2.
Meanwhile, Nam Ji Hyun is set to return to the screen next year in KBS2’s drama Dear Bandit (working title).
