Lee Byung Hun has been recognized as one of the year’s most outstanding performers.

On December 14th, The New York Times Magazine unveiled its list of the “Great Performers”—the 10 actors who delivered the best performances in film in 2025.

Lee Byung Hun made the list for his role in No Other Choice, directed by Park Chan Wook. He was honored alongside global stars including Liam Neeson, Kirsten Dunst, and Teyana Taylor.

When asked “how they conjure primal passions like love, hatred, joy or sadness,” Lee Byung Hun responded, “When I act, I don’t think about my real life. I have to be inside the story to express that emotion accurately. There are times during shooting when I am surprised by emotions coming out of me that I had not thought of when I originally read the script.”

His agency commented on the recognition, saying, “This proves that Lee Byung Hun has firmly established himself as an actor who compellingly portrays the inner world of human beings, transcending borders and language.”

Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun has also been nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. The ceremony is set to take place on January 11th next year.
