
Director Park Chan Wook’s latest film No Other Choice has earned three major nominations at the Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture.
According to the list announced by the Golden Globes on December 8th (local time), No Other Choice was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture in a Musical/Comedy for Lee Byung Hun, and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language.
The Golden Globes divide their film categories into Drama and Musical/Comedy, with No Other Choice competing in the latter for Best Picture against One Battle After Another, Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, and Nouvelle Vague.
Lee Byung Hun, who stars as the film’s lead character Man Soo, was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical/Comedy. He will be competing against Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), George Clooney (Jay Kelly), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).

No Other Choice was also named a finalist for Best Non-English Language Film, alongside It Was Just an Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sirat, and The Voice of Hind Rajab. In 2020, Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite became the first Korean film to win that category.
The movie follows Man Soo (Lee Byung Hun), a man who feels he finally has everything he dreamed of—until he is suddenly fired. As he fights to protect his wife, his two kids, and the home he worked so hard to secure, he launches into a personal war to find a way back into employment. The film opened in Korea on September 24th and drew 2.94 million moviegoers nationwide.
Netflix’s animated feature KPop Demon Hunters also received two Golden Globe nominations. It is competing for Best Motion Picture – Animated against titles like Zootopia 2 and Arco, while its theme song “Golden” earned a nomination for Best Original Song. “Golden” will face contenders like “Dream as One” from Atava: Fire and Ashes, “I Lied to You” from Sinners, “No Place Like Home / The Girl in the Bubble” from Wicked: For Good, and “Train Dreams” from Train Dreams.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 11th, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
