Kim Jong Kook has purchased a luxury villa in Seoul’s upscale Nonhyeon-dong neighborhood in Gangnam for 6.2 billion won ($4.3 million).
According to real estate industry sources on the 1st, Kim acquired a 243-square-meter unit in the exclusive “Nonhyeon Apelbaum Phase 2” last month. The property appears to have been purchased entirely with cash, as public records show no mortgage has been registered against the home.
The Nonhyeon Apelbaum is a high-end townhouse-style villa complex consisting of 76 total units between Phases 1 and 2. The first 38 units in Phase 1 were occupied in late 2007, followed by the remaining 38 units in Phase 2, which began move-ins in October 2011.
The villa complex is particularly favored by celebrities who value privacy, featuring quintuple-layered exterior walls and 180 CCTV cameras throughout the grounds. Fellow celebrities Jang Keun Suk and Lee Yo Won are also residents of the same complex.
Kim Jong Kook currently resides in “Acro Hills Nonhyeon” in the same Nonhyeon-dong area. He previously mentioned on SBS variety show Running Man that he “needs to move by June.”
