NCT WISH has found themselves at the center of controversy following their recent appearance on SBS PowerFM’s popular radio show, Cultwo Show.

During their guest appearance, the rookie boy group faced criticism for what many listeners described as a passive and disengaged attitude. Despite the hosts’ efforts to keep the conversation lively, the members reportedly responded with minimal enthusiasm, creating an awkward atmosphere throughout the segment.

When asked to participate in a trending social media challenge, only a few members joined in, while the others merely observed with faint smiles. Fellow guest Chuu tried to lift the mood by cheering them on with an enthusiastic “Let’s go!” and animated gestures, but the group failed to reciprocate her energy.

The radio show hosts eventually acknowledged the tension, commenting, “WISH seems completely frozen,” and, “Thank you for promoting despite having such reserved personalities,” subtly hinting at the strain they felt during the segment.

Clips from the episode quickly spread across online communities, sparking heated debate. Many criticized the group for displaying a lack of effort, with some accusing the members of appearing unmotivated—a stereotype often associated with idols from major entertainment companies.

However, a smaller group of fans defended the members, pointing to their young ages and the inclusion of Japanese members in the lineup. These fans argued that the group’s awkwardness likely stemmed from limited television experience or introverted personalities rather than intentional disrespect or disinterest.
