Park Ji Hoon is taking his latest success in stride.
The actor-singer recently graced the cover of Singles Japan’s May issue, where he opened up about his current mindset following the strong performance of his film The King’s Warden.
“I’m grateful for all the love it’s received,” he said. “But I’m trying not to get carried away and just live as I normally do.”
The film has climbed to No. 2 on Korea’s all-time box office list, marking a major milestone in his career.
Park Ji Hoon also reflected on reuniting with his former group Wanna One for the variety show Wanna One Go: Back to Base. “That time we were Wanna One still feels like a dream,” he shared.
Looking ahead, he’s set to return to screens with The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, premiering May 11th on TVING and tvN. Explaining what drew him to the project, Park Ji Hoon said, “The military setting itself felt interesting and appealing. But what really stood out was how the story expands through cooking—it’s not just a typical military story. Most of all, the script was incredibly fun.”
Having starred in multiple webtoon-based projects, Park Ji Hoon also shared his approach to adaptations. “What works in a webtoon and what works on screen are different,” he said. “Rather than trying to recreate everything perfectly, I focus on capturing the core essence of the character and bringing that to life.”
With a major hit under his belt and a new project on the way, Park Ji Hoon is moving forward with a steady, grounded outlook.
