Song Joong Ki is making headlines for his surprising new hobby—flower arranging. It turns out, this is all part of his preparation for an upcoming drama.
A recent Instagram post by a florist revealed, “Song Joong Ki has been taking flower arrangement classes since last summer.” The post quickly went viral online.
The post also featured a picture of Song Joong Ki engrossed in his flower arranging class, along with a friendly photo with the florist.
This effort was revealed to be for his role in the upcoming JTBC drama My Youth. The florist praised Song Joong Ki, saying, “He has been dedicated to learning the basics of flower arranging over a long period for his role as Sun Woo Hae. His passion and effort have taught me so much.”
The florist added, “Thank you for always being kind whenever we meet. I’ll be cheering you on in all your future endeavors.”
Song Joong Ki faced challenges with his recent projects. His films, including Bogotá (2024), My Name Is Loh Kiwan (2024), and Hopeless (2023), all struggled at the box office.
He especially expressed his disappointment with Bogotá, in which he played the lead role. During a fan meeting, he tearfully shared, “Korean films are facing tough times, and just getting a film into theaters is something to be grateful for. I worked harder than ever to promote, and even though I received criticism, I did my best to improve the situation. I’ll continue to push forward and make good projects to support the industry. This really moves me.”
