The Seoul Central District Court dismissed the objection filed by NewJeans members on April 16, stating, “The injunction in this case is valid,” thereby upholding its previous decision to grant the injunction.

On March 21, the court had accepted ADOR’s request for an injunction against NewJeans, aiming to preserve ADOR’s status as their agency and prohibit the members from signing advertising contracts or engaging in other activities independently. The court fully granted the injunction, stating, “The members of NewJeans must not engage in entertainment activities on their own or through any third party other than ADOR without prior approval and consent from ADOR.”

NewJeans filed an objection to the injunction ruling on the same day it was issued, but the court has now dismissed that objection. Given this outcome, it is highly likely that the members will appeal to the High Court, where the case will be re-evaluated in a second trial.

Meanwhile, a separate first trial is ongoing regarding ADOR’s main lawsuit seeking confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contracts with the members.
